IUshare
FAQs
IUshare is the service that gives you access to materials that Gabriele Library does not own.
IUshare Frequently Asked Question
IUshare is the electronic interlibrary loan system you use to request an item from another library.
Your user name and password allows us to give you secure access to information about your interlibrary loan requests. You will use your IU network login.
Many of our databases will have an “interlibrary loan” link in the citation. When you click on that link, you will be directed to the IUshare login window. Once you are logged in, all the citation information will be automatically uploaded into the request form. For books and other requests that are not available through our databases, you will log in to IUshare and fill out the specific request form manually.
Books will be held for you at the Circulation Desk. You will receive an email and/or text message when they are ready for pick-up. Articles will arrive in your IUshare account.
Check our online catalog or List of Journals to determine if we own the book or article that you need. The U.S. ILL Code and the PA ILL Code does not allow us to borrow an item we own. For that reason we will need to cancel any requests that are available to us both electronically and in print.
Many libraries will not lend these materials; therefore, it may be more difficult to fill those requests.
Books, especially those coming from out of state, make take up to 10 days to arrive. Please plan accordingly. Most articles arrive much sooner.
Beginning 7 days after the due date, we will charge ALL interlibrary loan users a $1.00/day late fee for overdue materials.
Since your login is the same as your network login, contact the Help Desk at X1234 to reset your password.
