American Civil War 1861-1865

The American Civil War battled on from 1861 to 1865 in the United States, it was know as the War Between the States or simply the Civil War. It was fought between southern slave states that declared their sucession from the North and formed the Confederate States of America and the North or the Union as it was called. Ultimately the South lost and slavery was abolished, the Confederacy was dissolutioned and the reconstruction era began.
