Canceled Request

Why is my Request Canceled?

Requests are canceled for the following reasons:

We own the item (95% of all cancellations – and this causes huge delays!). Check the catalog and List of Journals first.

We could not locate another library that is willing to lend.

The item is published in a foreign language which the patron is not willing to accept.
The citation is incorrect.
A dissertation may not circulate since it is often a single copy held only by the university that published it.

All canceled requests are given the applicable reason in the patron’s IUshare account.

Use your Immaculata University library card to borrow library materials directly from any SEPCHE library.

To borrow materials from TCLC libraries you need to obtain a Letter of Introduction from the Circulation Desk in Gabriele Library.

Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies has hundreds of databases and lends any book that is available in Penn State's LIAS catalog. A Pennsylvania resident needs to present a PA Drivers license. An Immaculata student who is a resident of another state should obtain a TCLC Letter of Introduction.

Chester County Library System cards - If you attend Immaculata University you are eligible for a library card that you can use to check out materials at any Chester County library. And you can use the Library's POWER Library (Pennsylvania Online World of Electronic Resources) via Internet.

PA POWER Library - "The POWER Library allows you to access thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people...to adults." Access these resources with your public library barcode.

In your IUshare portal, open "communication preferences" and add your phone number.
Be sure to click on "save changes".

Gabriele Library uses IUshare, to manage interlibrary loan

Patrons can login with their existing IU network account to create and manage their interlibrary loan requests.
