Who is eligible?
Immaculata students and adjunct faculty who live more than 1 hour away from Immaculata’s campus.
What is it?
The scanned copy service sends (by way of email) copies of periodical articles that can be found in print periodicals owned by Immaculata to students and adjunct faculty. The purpose of this service is to provide equal access to Immaculata’s print periodicals for students and adjunct faculty who would be otherwise unable to obtain these articles due to distance from Immaculata’s campus. Periodical articles that can be obtained through Immaculata’s electronic databases are not included in this service as those articles can be accessed online.
Students and adjunct faculty who need periodical articles not owned in print by Immaculata and not accessible online should use Immaculata’s Interlibrary Loan service.
Books are not included in Immaculata’s scanned copy service. If students or adjunct faculty need a book owned by Immaculata, s/he should either come to campus to obtain the book or visit his/her public library to request the book through that library’s interlibrary loan system.
How does it work?
First, check Immaculata’s A-Z List of Journals to ensure that Immaculata owns the volume and issue in print of the periodical containing the desired article. (Alternatively, periodical articles not owned in print by Immaculata and not accessible online should be requested through Immaculata’s Interlibrary Loan service).
If Immaculata does own the necessary print volume and issue, fill out the SCANNED COPY REQUEST FORM.
To receive your request in a timely and accurate manner, please note the following:
Your library account must be current and free of fines. Call the circulation desk at 610-647-4400 X3839 to update your card.
Fill out the request form accurately. If you leave out important citation information it will probably delay the process. Call the reference desk at 610-647-4400 X3829 if you need help.
You may request up to 3 articles per day.
Please be aware that it will take at least 3 business days to fill your request. Please plan your research accordingly.
Articles will only be sent to an Immaculata email address. Delete articles regularly to make room for any subsequent requests. Do not forward the articles from your Immaculata address to another address. The attachment will usually be too large for most commercial accounts and will be lost in the forwarding.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the pdf attachment.
